Nature World, Bicheno

There's something about feeding a friendly, furry animal. It's a surefire way to put a smile on a child's face, even those who are harder to please! Nature World is a lovely peaceful wildlife park with a wide range of animals to meet and learn about.

Swimming at Cosy Corner, Binalong Bay

Cosy Corner is a spectacular beach at Binalong Bay and it's perfect for a fun family day out. Grants Lagoon opens into the bay, creating a gentle flowing river and children can float or swim down with the current. The beach provides fun and waves for older more adventurous children while the lagoon mouth caters for the younger ones, right down to the babies!

Sandboarding at Peron Dunes

A 25 minute drive from Scamander are the Peron Dunes, a great place for families to explore. Flying down the dunes on a sandboard is a fun activity in both Summer and Winter. Follow it up with a walk along Beer Barrel Beach and search for crabs and other fish and marine creatures like mussels and sea urchins in the mini rock pools. There are dune buggy races held each year around November that are great to watch too. We are working on getting some sandboards for families to borrow so make sure to ask us about them when you arrive!

Scamander River Fishing

What better family activity than one that hopefully ends in a delicious bite to eat? Scoring your own catch and cooking it up for dinner around the campfire is a rewarding and fun family activity and there's plenty biting all year round at Scamander River. Flathead and mackerel are common catches and you might be lucky and score a bream if you're lucky.

Penguin Watching in Bicheno

Penguins are undeniably adorable and in Bicheno they draw many a keen spectator as they return, waddling on their webbed feet to their burrows at dusk each night. Their cuteness is overwhelming with their tiny flippers, little waddles and tiny squeaks delighting children and adults equally. They aren't to be missed!
